How can we teach sustainability and equality to future generations?

MUTKU Design School

SuoMu – The Finnish Association of Design Learning educates children to become aware of their living environment and its designed elements, while encouraging them to explore the design process itself. In addition to running their own Design School and design workshops, SuoMu works towards including Design Learning in the nation-wide elementary school curriculum in Finland.

The objects on display are robots and machines made by children participating in SuoMu’s Design School. They are designed to work towards making the world a better place, each in their own way. SuoMu builds on children’s natural ability to create and develop ideas, working with their teachers to help them become experts in sustainability and equality through design.
