Helsieni is among the growing number of small businesses that aim towards supporting self-sufficiency and sustainable food production. In addition to farming mushrooms on coffee waste collected from cafés, Helsieni manufactures and sells Oyster Mushroom Growkits to be used in private kitchens.

The Growkits are made of repurposed dairy containers collected from restaurants. In addition to the container, each kit includes a bag of oyster mushroom spawn and breathing tape. These, together with coffee waste, enables anyone to produce up to 600 g of mushrooms in their own kitchen. The growing process can be restarted multiple times.
